Reading through the Bethesda acquisition thread about "the future of software" I've seen many people claiming arrogant Xbox has emerged. It might sound horrible, as you are eternally trapped in a capitalist hellscape with no end in sight, but then you remember, that for that one moment when you got that kill while the Mountain Dew and Doritos were giving you terrible bowel movements and heartburn.you were a king. You lay on the barren asphalt, and start accepting calls. Your Roomba reminds you that its time for your night shift as a customer service call support agent. Your holographic home and everything you "own" disappear, as you have reached your daily allotment of fun. Suddenly your console turns off, and you fall to the ground. Disrespect't A.I consciousness that was uploaded to the cloud. You hop back in, and right away get a 360 no scope one shot on Dr. Your Roomba tells you "why don't you fuel up with some gamer fuel?" Thats when you go to the fridge and chug a can of Mountain Dew and chomp on some Doritos. You throw the controller at the wall but it quickly comes back to you as everything around you is a hologram. You are exhausted from work, and have no energy left. You can't get any headshots and die right away. You turn on your console, and start the multiplayer. During those 30 seconds you contemplate how it all came to this, but quickly forget as you pass by an ad for the new Halo game, which you are super excited to play. You get inside the Tesla Tube and it and catapults you to your house in under 30 seconds. You punch out with your timecard, and glance at your weekly earnings after 96 hours of work, which totals $27.83 after the 80% tax imposed by President Baron Trump on all non millionaires and below. Controlling video games by waving around your hands is not going to bridge that gap.The year is 2036, and you finish a long day at the Amazon Gulag HQ where you spent 16 hours packing boxes. They're not going to be able to make things look as nice on xbox than on PS4. It's going to matter at launch and its going to matter mid/late gen when devs are trying to drain every last bit of processing out of the machine. The xbone ain't getting more powerful than those specs you see. Were these guys not alive in the 1990's? At the end of the day, people are going to buy the good games. They sat down and decided that pumping money in to marketing will ultimately win out in the console war. They are hedging bets on a fucking stereoscopic camera, gimme a break. Video games are changing and xbox team does not know where they're headed. They had enough money to launch a cool new console 2 gens ago and at that point it was easy pickings with only 2 other companies in the market. They capitalize on opportunity instead of innovate. Microsoft has followed video game trends since the beginning, it has never led them. The elephant in the room is that they have straight up built a less powerful gaming console than Sony. They're talking the exact same paradigm at E3 this year as they've done the past 7 years. Microsoft will exit the home console war after this gen. It's not even a prediction at this point. But god damn, this is the last xbox we're going to see. How is this different then what Sony did with Subway? Guys, xbox has turned in to total garbage.
